Love cooking? Love eating? Love meeting new and interesting people?
Join me for an evening loosely based around the UK's TV show “Come Dine
With Me”, where four to five strangers come together to prepare, cook and eat a two or three course meal whilst enjoying each other's company in the relaxing
surroundings of somebody else's home, or in this case, in the centrally located apartment
where I will be staying whilst in your city.
I will be hosting the dinner party, but apart from greeting guests and
waving them goodbye at the end of the evening, the whole event will be a
collective effort from start to finish, including washing the dishes!
If you're good at cooking then great, but that really is not important; we
will all be following recipes created by Jamie Oliver, one of
Britain's most famous TV chefs, so the only real requirements are that you have
at least a pre-intermediate level of English and are over eighteen years of
age.
So, apart from bringing a bottle of something to share, you will need to
bring your personality and your willingness to talk with total strangers in
English. There will be no dress code; however, it is always nice to dress up
for a night out, or in this case, a night in.
A little bit about me: I'm a native English teacher but, more importantly,
I'm someone who loves socialising with people of all ages and of all walks of
life whilst giving back to society where possible, which is why I will be
asking each guest for a donation to a charity local to your city.
The dinner party will start promptly at 7pm (the British are known for
their punctuality) and finish by 10pm.
